Singapore: Unique Experience We Couldn’t Miss!

Destinations /Jose /June 13, 2024 Singapore: Unique Experience We Couldn’t Miss! When exploring Singapore, it’s easy to get caught up in the well-known attractions, but what truly makes a trip unforgettable are the unique and unexpected experiences. Here are some highlights from our Singapore adventure that left a lasting impression on us. An Evening to Remember: Mama Diam One evening, towards the end of our trip, we were tired and just wanted a cozy night out with some good food and drinks. My partner discovered a unique bar nearby through a quick Google search. And so, we headed to Mama Diam, just around the corner from where we were staying. From the outside, Mama Diam looks like a storefront straight out of the 80s. To enter, you slide part of the storefront open, revealing a beautifully styled restaurant and bar. We were sitting at the bar, since we were only having a cocktail. The cocktails here are anything but ordinary, making the experience even more delightful. We tried the Chai Tarik Brew, a delightful mix of whiskey, amaretto, and butterscotch, served with biscuits on the side. We also had the Coco Bandung, a rose and coconut concoction topped with condensed milk foam. These drinks were unlike anything we’d ever tasted before.   As we were leaving, we were stopped by Jared, the Business Development Director, who offered to take our picture at the storefront. Our conversation with Jared led to an introduction to another hidden gem: Lou Shang. A Hidden Gem: Lou Shang Located on the second floor, Lou Shang is hidden behind what appears to be an elevator door. Stepping through, we found ourselves transported to a Singaporean home from the 70s-80s. The ambiance was so authentic that it felt like a journey back in time. We couldn’t resist having a couple more cocktails and ended up spending a good amount of time here. Jared shared stories about the creation of these unique spots and about Singapore in general, making our visit even more special, we only wish we would have found it earlier on! These experiences, Mama Diam and Lou Shang, added a unique flavor to our Singapore trip, making it truly unforgettable. If you find yourself in Singapore, seeking out these hidden gems is a must! Stick to the essentials and leave out outfits you might not wear, like that full night glam look you probably won’t need. This strategy frees up space in your luggage for souvenirs and local goodies you’ll want to bring home. Airport Comfort: Dress comfortably for the airport. Opt for leggings, jogging pants, hoodies, and minimal makeup. Comfortable clothing makes long flights much more bearable. Luggage Tags: Always put luggage tags on both your carry-on and checked bags. This precaution is vital in case your luggage goes missing. Carry-On Packaging: Pack light in your carry-on. Include only what you can’t live without, like medications and necessary documents for the airport. Avoid packing lots of clothes and keep liquids to a minimum in your carry-on. You only need a small amount for the flight anyway, and ín some cases none. It reduces hassle during your journey, and make the security check way more smooth Hopefully this Packinglist and travel tips will make your trip preparation easier and your travel experience more enjoyable.  Safe travels!
