Singapore, the Lion City, is a dazzling blend of modern marvels, rich heritage, and lush green spaces. Whether you’re a history buff, nature lover, or a shopaholic, this vibrant city-state has something for everyone. Here’s a guide to some must-see places we recommend you don’t miss when visiting Singapore.

1. Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands is an iconic symbol of Singapore’s skyline. This integrated resort boasts a hotel, a mall, an ArtScience Museum, and the world’s largest rooftop infinity pool.

2. Gardens by the Bay

Just a stone’s throw from Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay is a futuristic park that showcases the best of nature and technology. Entering the park itself is free, and it displays The Supertree Grove, with its towering tree-like structures, is a sight to behold, especially during the evening light show (Garden Rhapsody), which is every night at 7.45pm and 8.45pm.

On mondays, Saturday and Sundays there is also the Borealis light show, which combines layers of light and cloud particles where the magical splendor of the Northern Lights, also known as aurora borealis, is recreated to illuminate the night skies of Supertree Grove

Don’t miss the Cloud Forest also when visiting. It’s a beautiful dome with exotic flower, a big waterfall and man made clouds.

Gardens by the bay was one of our favorite attractions during our trip. The park itself is gorgeous, and a perfect place to spend the day relaxing, or taking beautiful pictures. And then all the extra attractions which are immersed within the park.

3. Sentosa Island

Sentosa Island is Singapore’s premier destination for fun and relaxation. From thrilling rides at Universal Studios Singapore to serene beaches, Sentosa has it all. Adventure seekers can try the MegaZip or iFly Singapore, while those looking to unwind can relax at Tanjong Beach.

4. Chinatown

Chinatown offers a glimpse into Singapore’s rich cultural tapestry. Wander through its bustling streets filled with temples, traditional shops, and food stalls. The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum is a must-visit for its stunning architecture and spiritual significance, you are allowed to enter the temple free of charge, you just have to be covered up. But not to worry, they lend out free coverup if you are not properly clothed.

Chinatown is perfect for cheap souvenir hunting and trying out some chinese food dishes.
Personally we bought everything from kimonos, keyrings, merlion stuffies in this area.

5. Little India

Experience the vibrant culture and flavors of India in Singapore’s Little India. This district is a sensory overload of colorful buildings, aromatic spices, and lively street markets.And there is always at least 10 different indian songs playing at the same time. Don’t miss the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple and the Mustafa Centre, a 24-hour shopping haven.

6. Clarke Quay

For a taste of Singapore’s nightlife, Clarke Quay is the place to be. This riverside quay is home to an array of bars, restaurants, and clubs, all set against the backdrop of beautifully restored shophouses. It’s a great spot to enjoy a night out with friends or a romantic evening by the river. Just be aware that the prices in this area are of course not cheap!

7. Orchard Road

Shopping enthusiasts will find their paradise on Orchard Road. This bustling boulevard is lined with upscale malls, department stores, and designer boutiques. Whether you’re looking for luxury brands or local designers, Orchard Road has something for every shopper.

8. Haw Par Villa

Haw Par Villa is a theme park located along Pasir Panjang Road in Singapore. The park contains over 1,000 statues and 150 giant dioramas depicting scenes from Chinese Literature, folklore, legends, history, and statuary of key Chinese religions, Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism. This took around 40 min for us to get to, from where we were based in Singapore, but absolutely worth the visit. There is free admission, and it is just so beautifully created, and it feels like you travel to a different world.

Also there are some spots where you can purchase fish/turtle food. Which was just a big bonus for us as animal lovers!

9. Kampong Glam

Kampong Glam is a historic district that showcases Singapore’s Malay and Islamic heritage. The Sultan Mosque, with its golden dome, is the centerpiece of this area. Wander through the streets lined with colorful shophouses and visit Haji Lane, known for its trendy boutiques and vibrant street art. Here we got the feeling of being somewhere in South America with all the colors, and there are multiple bars and restaurants serving latin cuisines.

10.Singapore Zoo and Nightsafari

Animal lovers should not miss the Singapore Zoo, renowned for its ‘open’ concept that allows animals to roam in naturalistic habitats. The Night Safari, adjacent to the zoo, offers a unique nocturnal experience where visitors can observe animals in their natural night-time environments. This was on our bucket list, but we ended up not prioritizing it on our trip.

But we heard that it should not be missed when visiting.
